Goodreads exports include your ratings and written reviews. The process takes a few minutes as Goodreads generates your file in the background.
Step 1 — Export from Goodreads
- Log in to Goodreads and click My Books in the top navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom of the left sidebar and click Import and export under the Tools section.
- Click Export Library. For large libraries this can take several minutes.
- When the export is ready, a download link will appear on the same page. Click it to save the file.
Step 2 — Import into Cookbooker
- Go to Bookshelf → Import your collection.
- Select Goodreads as the source.
- Upload your exported CSV file.
- Review the results and click Import.
What comes over
- Cookbooks matched by ISBN — added to your shelf
- Your ratings — imported to your shelf (Goodreads ratings of 0 are treated as unrated)
- Your written reviews — imported with your consent
Goodreads exports all shelves, not just "read". If you have books on "to-read" or custom shelves, they'll appear in the import results too — just uncheck anything you don't want to bring over.
Goodreads only includes ISBNs for books it has ISBN data for. Books without an ISBN in your Goodreads export will appear in the "Couldn't identify" section.
