LibraryThing exports include your ratings and written reviews, so this is the most complete import option if you've been tracking your collection there.
Step 1 — Export from LibraryThing
- Log in to LibraryThing and go to More → Import/Export.
- Under Export, choose Tab-Delimited Text — this format is more complete than CSV and is what Cookbooker expects.
- Click Export and save the file to your computer.
Step 2 — Import into Cookbooker
- Go to Bookshelf → Import your collection.
- Select LibraryThing as the source.
- Upload your exported file.
- Review the matched books, uncheck anything you don't want imported, and click Import.
What comes over
- Cookbooks matched by ISBN — added to your shelf
- Your ratings — imported to your shelf
- Your written reviews — imported with your consent (a checkbox appears before you confirm)
LibraryThing exports include all book types, not just cookbooks. Cookbooker will only import books that match entries in its catalogue — non-cookbook titles that aren't in the catalogue will appear in the "Couldn't identify" section and won't be imported.
My rating didn't come over — why?
LibraryThing uses a 0.5-star scale. Cookbooker rounds to the nearest whole star. A rating of 0 (unrated) is treated as no rating.
